Step 5 - Teemyco "Life" Hacks πŸ”₯

Below we have collected some Teemyco "tricks" that users have come up with to maximize your office online.

  • Transitioning: calendar reminders first 2 weeks for everyone to be online
  • Morning drop-in: use the open workspace for good morning greetings pre 9 am
  • Home room per team: One room per team, making the default room choice simple
  • Joint playlist: our Spotify team playlist is open for anyone to add songs to and is pinned in the kitchen
  • Calendar nudge: Using the Teemyco room-scheduling functionality triggers a popup reminder & shows ongoing meetings to others (generates dial-in-link to the web version of the room)
  • BRB: When leaving your spot just briefly, turning on video streaming
  • Semi-availability: Creating a semi-focus-room beside the focus area & open workspace
  • Social lunch: Optional calendar invites, on Thursdays at 12, meet in the kitchen, break into rooms of 2-3
  • Friday Lunch & Learns: one Friday per month someone in the team shares a random learning session (about anything) with whoever feels like joining in and learning something new. Meeting in the kitchen
  • Workshops: create accounts for trusted your agency/investors, run workshops, break out into rooms, split into groups.
  • Watercooler moment: clicking the coffee button when feeling social and lonely (prompting notifications to un-busy colleagues)
  • Afterwork: optional social wind-down in "the Bar" from 5 pm on Thursdays (in the calendar too)
  • Rotating Chief Fun Officer: once per month we schedule a fun team activity, we meet in the Bar. The responsibility for the session rotates.
  • Evening coziness: work with video on only to make late evening work cozier
  • Joint music: pin your team's Spotify playlist into one of the rooms, co-listen
  • External meetings in Teemyco: clarify in room name which rooms are ok to share a link to
  • Move more, physically: make sure to place your coffee machine far away, or purposely forget to plug in your power chord so you "have to" get up from your spot more frequently. When leaving Teemyco briefly, turned on the video showing an empty seat means BRB.
  • Making video more natural: avoid the "you're muted", and hear real reactions if leaving audio on in meetings of 7 ppl or fewer.
  • Create a DJ Booth: 1. Create a table called "DJ Booth" or whatever other fun name you want to give it. 2. Invite your music-loving colleagues. 3. One colleague activates their microphone and plays music for everyone else to listen to (take turns if you like!) 4. Activate your cameras to feel together on your Teemyco "dancefloor"!
